Happy, Healthy, Holy Kids!
This website was created to encourage our community to live a happy, healthy, holy life. One look at the news and we are bombarded by the dire straits of health in our society. Obesity rates have risen dramatically over the years and continue to rise for adults as well as
children. We live in a busy world that doesn’t leave much room for working out and eating healthy.
St. Edward School has created a committee to promote healthy habits in the classroom as well as in our community. There are three components that will be addressed each
Body Image: Each month a lesson will be taught on teaching children how to love and honor the body that God has given them. Each day in the media, children are assualted by unrealistic body images. Our goal is to teach acceptance of one another and to encourage children to celebrate their body.
Healthy Habit: A healthy habit will be introduced each month to the students. A variety of lessons will be taught in class to promote each healthy habit. By the end of the school year, the students will be introduced to a wide array of habits to incorporate into their lives.
Physical Activity: Each month, the school will focus on a specific activity. The goal is to introduce the children to a wide variety of activities and help children find
one that they enjoy and will continue to do on their own.
